Who We Are
Refine Financial was founded by Keesan Brown, a financial services professional with over 10 years of experience working across leading institutions including Chase, Securian, and TIAA focused on helping organizations refine how their employees understand and engage with their retirement benefits.
With experience spanning banking, retirement plan consulting, and institutional client relationships, Refine Financial brings a well-rounded perspective on how financial decisions are made both at the individual level and within organizations. This includes working with business owners on retirement plans, as well as partnering with private and public higher education institutions to evaluate retirement programs, develop employee engagement strategies, and implement meaningful improvements that strengthen retirement outcomes.
Through this experience, a consistent gap became clear.
While many employees are offered financial education through their workplace, it is often centered around specific plans or providers leaving limited support for broader, practical financial topics that impact their everyday lives.
In addition, some organizations turn to tools and digital platforms as a solution. While these can provide access, they do not replace the impact of clear, engaging education that truly connects with employees and drives real understanding.
That’s where Refine Financial is different.
Refine Financial delivers unbiased, practical financial education designed to provide clarity without product influence and focused on education first, so employees can make confident decisions.
The focus is on helping employees:
Understand how their 401(k) actually works
Take full advantage of employer benefits
Build sustainable saving and budgeting habits
Feel confident making everyday financial decisions
When employees understand their finances, everything changes.
They become more confident.
More engaged.
Less stressed and more present at work.
For employers, this translates into a stronger, more focused workforce, increased benefit utilization, and a meaningful investment in employee well-being that supports retention, productivity, and long-term impact.
